The Daedalus CRM desktop app ships the whole service with it — no database to install, nothing to configure. It creates the database on first launch and works offline. Sign up with an email — free — the first time you open it, sign in, and you're working.
Free to download, open source. If it earns its keep, buy us a coffee
The message “cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified” is expected — we haven't bought an Apple developer signature ($99/year). Allow it once and macOS stops asking.
Same as any other Mac app.
Dismiss the dialog with “Done” or “OK”. Don't delete the app.
Confirm once more and it opens.
"Windows protected your PC" is expected — we haven't bought a code-signing certificate yet, so Windows can't name the publisher. The installer's SHA-256 is listed on the GitHub release page if you want to check it.
When the blue "Windows protected your PC" box appears, don't click "Don't run".
You can choose the install folder. Afterwards "Daedalus CRM" is on the desktop and in the Start menu. Later updates come through "Check for updates" in the app: it downloads, verifies and reinstalls over the top, and your data is left alone.
The account is free and registered with an email; your first sign-in comes with 30 free AI conversations, no model key of your own needed. Your data still stays on your machine. The desktop app opens on its sign-in page, with a "Create an account ↗" link that opens your browser on this page — registration only happens on the web, so the account works in both places. Forgotten passwords can be reset from inside the app. Prefer not to use our AI allowance? Put your own API endpoint in Settings → AI — the account is still needed to sign in.
Mac updates are incremental: "Check for updates" downloads only what actually changed in that release — usually a few MB, not the full 132 MB package every time. On Windows it downloads the full installer, verifies it and installs over the top; your data is left alone.
Slow download? Get it from GitHub: Mac / Windows — the button above uses GitCode, which is much faster from inside mainland China; elsewhere GitHub is usually faster. Same package either way.
The Intel build has to be made on an Intel machine and we don't have one — tell us if you need it and we'll bump it up. The Windows build is the same code and the same account as the Mac one, and the data likewise stays on your PC; x64 only for now, no ARM build. No Linux desktop build: the open-source version fits better, and the data still stays yours.
Business data, cloud token and server logs are all under
~/Library/Application Support/DaedalusCRM/ (Mac) or
%APPDATA%\DaedalusCRM\ (Windows). Back it up with Settings → Desktop → Back up database (copying the folder while the app is running can miss the latest writes); on a Mac, uninstall by deleting the folder; on Windows, uninstall the app from Settings → Apps — the data folder stays until you delete it yourself.
Your customer database is never uploaded — only when you use AI do the few records that request needs go to the model provider.
