Leads, customers, follow-ups, deals and referral attribution in one place. Install it and it runs — your customer database is never uploaded. The one exception is AI: when you use it, the few records that one request needs go to the model provider. Turn AI off and it's a fully offline CRM.
This isn't “we promise not to look” — there is technically no upload path. Your business data is a SQLite file sitting on your disk.
All business data lives in ~/Library/Application Support/DaedalusCRM/. Back it up by copying that folder; uninstall by deleting it.
The only exception is AI: each time you click, the few records that request needs go to the model provider, and nothing else moves
(privacy policy, sections 2 and 3).
The desktop app ships the whole service with it and doesn't depend on our servers. Only signing in and calling the AI touch the network — skip those two and it's entirely offline.
Whatever the AI produces is put in front of you first; saving only happens after you've checked it. It has no path that writes to the database.
AGPL-3.0 open source — read the code, change it. Don't want the desktop app? Self-host with one docker command. The data is still yours.
One person? Install the desktop app — free. A team sharing one database wants the team edition.
Sign up with an email — free — and go.
AI works out of the box — no model key of your own
For teams. We handle deployment and maintenance.
Yes — a free account, registered with an email. The first time you open the desktop app you land on its sign-in page, with a "Create an account ↗" link that opens your browser on the sign-up page; sign in afterwards and you're in. Your first sign-in comes with 30 AI questions (one grant per computer). Rather not use our AI allowance? Put your own model key in Settings → AI. Either way your data stays on your machine.
On your own machine, in ~/Library/Application Support/DaedalusCRM/ , as a SQLite file. We can't see it — the desktop app has no code path that uploads business data. Only signing in and calling the AI touch the network: the first sends credentials, the second sends the content of that one conversation.
Yes. The home-page input box has "Paste a chat": drop in a WeChat message or group sign-up as-is and AI slices it into a table. For a whole Excel / CSV file, use "Import" at the top of the customer list. The phone number is the identity; people already in the database are filled in, never overwritten; files are never uploaded; every batch can be undone.
Yes. Since 0.37 the desktop app has a built-in MCP endpoint: generate a command under Settings → AI, run it once in a terminal, then ask Claude Code or Codex things like "where are we with Zhang San" or "who signed the most this month". It queries the database on your machine using your own subscription — our free credits aren't involved. What it exposes is fourteen read-only queries: logging a note, changing a status or scheduling a plan still happens only in the CRM, with your click.
Yes. We haven't bought an Apple developer signature ($99/year), so Gatekeeper always blocks the first launch. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Security → Open Anyway once and it never asks again. Since macOS 15, right-clicking and choosing Open no longer works. On Windows, SmartScreen stops the installer once too — click "More info → Run anyway". Full steps on the download page.
Windows, yes: there are installers for Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit) and Apple silicon (M series) Macs — same features, and the same account signs in on both. An Intel Mac build has to be produced on an Intel machine and doesn't exist yet; on an Intel Mac, use the self-hosted build for now — any platform with Docker.
30 on your first sign-in in the desktop app (one grant per computer). While your balance is under 30, any day you use it adds 3 more (once per day). One question is one credit, however many lookups the AI makes while answering it; if it fails on our side (timeout, error) the credit comes back. Balance = total granted − total used, and grants are only ever added, never taken back.
Pick DeepSeek in settings and paste a key — endpoint and model name are filled in for you. Any other OpenAI-compatible endpoint still works under "Other". The key is encrypted in the local database and the UI only echoes the last four characters. Configure no key and the AI entry points disappear entirely; everything else works as normal.
The desktop app is single-machine: installed on your computer, used by one person, no server to look after. Self-hosting is Docker: it runs on your server, a team shares it, and someone has to maintain it. Same codebase, same features, and in both cases the data is yours。
Per workspace, annual or monthly. Want a look first? Ask us and we'll issue a web trial account; installing the desktop app yourself is free and needs nothing from us. We're still settling the exact price — Contact with your team size and we'll put together a quote.
No forms, no sales call. It creates the database on install and takes you straight in. If it's not for you, delete it — nothing of yours stays with us.
